Seller Comments: Published in 2004, this booklet was researched and written by myself and details the story of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Band of Brothers) in the Kennet Valley, Wiltshire.
For a year the villages of Aldbourne, Ramsbury and Chilton Foliat accommodated the entire 506th Regiment before the 'Eagles' finally bid farewell to the area in September 1944. The booklet includes many never before published photographs from the research archives of Neil Stevens and contains interviews with locals who's everyday lives were effected by the US Paratroopers in the Kennet Valley.
The booklet also includes an additional colour suppliment on the restoration of Maurice Hammond's North American P-51 Mustang ~ Janie.
Signed by the author, 'Gathering of Eagles' is an essential reading and reference source for anyone planning to attend the 'Route to Victory' WWII convoy/re-enactment event in May this year or anyone with an interest in the 506th PIR.
